Gray Pawprint Washcloths

Gray pawprints with pink toes!

Judi, the proprietor of my little bricks and mortar shop, rescued a long-haired gray and white kitty from the alley behind the shop. She asked when I was going to make a gray pawprint so she could have one to match Ally. Here is the set, solid gray and gray with pink toes!

This also coordinates with many breeds of dogs who are gray or who have brindled fur that appears gray, and even with gray bunnies.

Gray cotton yarn was a real challenge to find easily and affordably, and I’m glad I found about two pounds of this lovely steely gray.

You can find these pawprints in my Etsy shop as a set, and click on the images here to link to each individual pawprint.

I also have them in my shop at Carnegie Antiques.

Enjoy!

Black and White Pawprints

Black and White Crocheted Pawprint Washcloth Set

In honor of Mister Mistoffelees and all the other jellicle cats in the world, I’ve finally crocheted the sets of black and white pawprints!

Most black and white cats have white paws, and while white paws on cats usually have pink toes this isn’t always true—some white paws have black toes if the kitty is mostly black! This was one of the things I noticed about Mister Mistoffelees, and I decided right then and there that I’d crochet white pawprints with black toes in his honor.

But no kitties have white toes…but why not on a crocheted washcloth?! I’ve always simply loved black and white together, so this would be a natural combination and most of these pawprints are just for fun.

And, of course, my homage to all the black kitties I’ve loved, including the Big Four! A soft solid black pawprint, ready for shower, decoration, or gift. You’d have thought I’d do this one first!

Girly Pink and Purple Pawprints!

Pink and purple pawprint set

Girly Pink and Purple Pawprint Set

I was so inspired by the little Dora the Explorer couch—formerly my great niece’s but now a perfect kitty bed—that I decided to adopt the colors from it for another set of crocheted pawprint washcloths.

Besides that, I LOVED pink and purple when I was growing up. My bedroom had bright pink walls and a hot pink shag carpet, I made myself a hot pink Dazzleaire afghan with as much of any shade of bright pink, lilac and purple as I could fit in there. I can relate to these girls and their pink and purple!

Light pink, bright pink and violet purple! I designed this set of pawprints for my great-nieces and all the other little girls who love PINK and PURPLE as much as I do (and always did). Let’s hear it for Girl Power!

So this set is for the little girl in your life, or maybe the little girl in your heart!

You can find this set in my Etsy shop.

You can also browse other colors of pawprints and other crocheted washcloths in my Crocheted Washcloth Collection on Etsy. I’m working on new color schemes for the pawprints every day!

Crocheted Pawprints in Natural Colors

Natural Pawprints

Now these are a little closer to natural kitty color, but the yarn colors inspired me to food names for these natural flecked cottons! This set includes Vanilla, Pistachio and Mocha. What’s nice is that these three colors seem to be regularly available in one-pound skeins—lots of pawprints!

And although they are soft and absorbent, and I crocheted them so they’d dry quickly in your bathroom, you don’t have to use them as washcloths. I tried them out as dishcloths in the kitchen, hotpads on the table for small casseroles or even a small mat or coaster for a plate or mug. Heck, they even make cute doilies on a tabletop!

I’ve been working with a pawprint motif for a couple of years now, working out the pattern myself. The scarves, hats and neck wraps are a little time-consuming, but I’ve been wanting to offer something simple in this pawprint pattern.

Viola! a simple washcloth! I’ve just worked out three color schemes right now, solids and pink or contrasting toes, but I’ve got plenty of different cotton yarns and lots of ideas for interesting color patterns.

Each cloth is 6″ in diameter side to side, 7.5″ top to bottom, and is made of yarn-dyed cotton.

You can find this item in my shop on Etsy, where you can find the other pawprint washcloths currently for sale as well.

You can also read about them and see other colors here in my marketplace.

Pistachio Pawprint!

I’ve added a new color to my Pawprint Washcloth collection–Pistachio! I just love this color of yarn, and it fits into the decor in so many “today” color schemes.

It’s okay if there isn’t a kitty this color!

And Something Completely Different—Crocheted Pawprint Washcloths

The crocheted pawprint washcloths were very popular in my shop for my weekend sale, and I’ve also added them to my Etsy shop!

I’m usually creating “art” and creating merchandise from it. Well, I started out life doing every craft there was available and I still enjoy many of those crafts and the traditional skills I’ve learned over the years.

I crochet all sorts of small things to wear and for my own use around the house and to give as gifts. I decided I’d add a few crocheted items to my little shop and even to Etsy.

For now, these three are the ones I have ready for this weekend. After this weekend I’ll be making more, and also developing the next natural progression in this theme—bath mitts!

I test all the things I make before I give as a gift or sell them, and right now I’m trying out the next pawprint item: a small pawprint pet food can scrubber made of synthetic yarn because it has more texture to scrub off those dried bits of food. I’ll post those when they are ready to go.
